Clamp locating tool (2) into the vise and attach adaptations (2.1, 2.2)

Attach fuel system high pressure pump (1) to the locating tool (2)

Loosen nut (3)

 Nut, drive wheel to fuel system high-pressure pump

Unfasten drive gear (4) with puller (5) from the drive shaft

Remove nut (3)

Remove drive gear (4) from the fuel system high pressure pump (1)

 If drive gear (4) is replaced because of damage, the gear for the gearwheel drive must also be checked for damage.

 Installation: The cone of the drive shaft and the tapered seat of the drive gear (4) must be free of grease.

Remove positioning disc (6)

Only if the drive gear (4) is replaced.

 Installation: Ensure that the lugs (arrow) on the positioning disc (6) into drive gear (4).

 Screw/bolt, positioning disk/driver to fuel system high-pressure pump drive wheel

Check dowel pin (8) for wear and damage

 Installation: Replace dowel pin (8) if necessary.

Install in the reverse order
