Rivet press tool

All individual tools that are listed in the repair description are part of the rivet press tool.

Rivet timing chain

1

Align gauge (L) in position 2 (P2) and tighten.

Ensure that the alignment of the gauge (L) and timing chain is correct.
Otherwise damage will occur.

Positions (P2) of the gauge (L) must match the holes on the cylinder head.

A tip of the tooth of the sprocket (11) (arrow) must match the semi-circular cutout of the gauge (L) in the center at the top.

2

Turn back spindle (3) slightly.

3

Attach assembly guide (1d) with the semi-circular cutout for the assembly link (12) to the rivet press tool (1) and tighten with a screw.

4

Insert assembly pin (1e) in rivet press tool (1) from front to rear.

5

Insert shackle (13) into the thrust piece (1c).

6

Turn thrust piece (1c) so that the shackle (13) touches the bolts of the assembly link (12).

The thrust piece (1c) must engage on the head of the assembly pin (1e).

7

Connect the timing chain(10) to the assembly link(12).

8

Attach rivet press tool (1) to the cylinder head and tighten with screws (1s).

9

Screw in spindle (3) until the push plate (1g) makes contact with the spacer sleeves (1h).

The shackle is pressed on in the process.

10

Turn the spindle (3) back somewhat and remove the rivet press tool (1) from the cylinder head.

11

Align gauge (L) in position 1 (P1) and tighten.

Ensure that the alignment of the gauge (L) and timing chain is correct.
Otherwise damage will occur.

The positions (P1) of the gauge (L) must match the bores on the cylinder head.

The bolt (arrow) must match the semi-circular cutout of the gauge (L) in the center at the top.

Leave the assembly pin (1e) inserted.

12

Remove assembly guide with end-to-end hole and attach assembly guide (1f) with non-continuous hole to the rivet press tool (1) and tighten rivet press tool (1) with screw.

13

Align the thrust piece (1c) so that the V-shaped recess for riveting meets the bolt (arrow) of the assembly link (12).

Thrust piece (1c) locks in place on the head of the assembly pin (1e).
