Removing

Remove cylinder head cover (20)

Remove spark plugs

Position piston of cylinder 1 to 20° after ignition TDC (arrow)

 Rotate engine at front of crankshaft.

Lock inlet camshaft (75) and exhaust camshaft (78) with positioning pins (01) (arrows)



 So that timing chain (4) does not jump across at the camshaft gears when separated.

Install chain tensioner (14)

Installation:

Prepare chain tensioner for installation.

Check basic position of the camshafts

Install cylinder head cover

 Check tightness of cylinder-head cover

Ensure gasket of cylinder head cover is correctly installed

Install spark plugs

Secure vehicle to prevent it moving off by itself.
Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes.
