Replacing front crankshaft radial sealing ring

Removing

Remove timing belt

Remove bolt (4) and spacer (3)



Detach gearwheel (1) with sensor rotor (2) from crankshaft (8)

 When detaching the gearwheel (1) ensure that the sensor rotor (2) does not impact on the timing belt tensioner otherwise the sensor rotor (2) can be damaged.

 Turn crankshaft (8) slightly until gearwheel (1) with sensor rotor (2) can be detached from the crankshaft (8).

Press out crankshaft radial seal (6) using a suitable screwdriver (5)

 Do not damage crankshaft (8) and mounting hole for the crankshaft radial sealing ring (6) in the oil pump housing (7) otherwise the leaktightness of the new crankshaft radial sealing ring (6) will no longer be maintained.



Install

Clean mounting hole of crankshaft radial sealing ring (6) on oil pump housing (7)

 The mounting hole on the oil pump housing (7) must be free of grease and dry.

Push sleeve (9) onto crankshaft (8)



Lightly lubricate inner sealing surface on crankshaft radial sealing ring (6) and carefully push onto the sleeve (9)

 Ensure that the inner sealing surface on the crankshaft radial sealing ring (6) is not damaged otherwise the leaktightness of the new crankshaft radial sealing ring (6) will no longer be maintained.



Hammer crankshaft radial sealing ring (6) carefully into the oil pump housing (7) using a drift (10) and plastic mallet

 The crankshaft radial sealing ring (6) must be flush with the oil pump housing (7).



Remove (9) sleeve



Place gearwheel (1) with sensor rotor (2) on the crankshaft (8)

 Ensure tight seating of the sensor rotor (2) on the gearwheel (1).

Position spacer (3) on the crankshaft (8) and screw in bolt (4)



Install timing belt
