Remove

Remove oil pan

Remove flywheel

Press out the crankshaft radial sealing ring (2) using a suitable tool


Do not damage crankshaft and mounting bore in end cover (3).
The leaktightness of the new crankshaft radial sealing ring (2) will not be achieved otherwise.

Unscrew screw/bolts (1) at end cover (3)

Remove end cover (3)



Install

Clean mounting hole of crankshaft radial sealing ring (2) in end cover (3)

 The mounting hole in the end cover (3) must be dry and free from grease.

Carefully knock in the crankshaft radial sealing ring (2) with the plastic mallet and drift up to the stop in the end cover (3)


Ensure that the crankshaft radial sealing ring (2) is not damaged.
The leaktightness of the new crankshaft radial sealing ring (2) will not be achieved otherwise.

Clean sealing surface at the end cover (3) and crankcase

 The sealing surface on the end cover (3) must be dry and free from grease.

Apply sealant to the end cover (3)

Loctite sealant 5203

Lightly oil the inner sealing surface of the crankshaft radial sealing ring (2) and carefully slide the end cover (3) with crankshaft radial sealing ring (2) onto the crankshaft


Ensure that inner sealing surface on the crankshaft radial sealing ring (2) is not damaged.
The leaktightness of the new crankshaft radial sealing ring (2) will not be achieved otherwise.

Position end cover (3) at the crankcase and secure with bolts (1)

 Bolt connecting end cover of radial shaft sealing ring to the crankcase

Install flywheel
