1 | Drain the engine oil. | ||
2 | Removing the flywheel. | ||
3 | Lift the engine some 5 cm. Support it, in a safe way, on the front axle, with a wood block. | Access improvement to bolts (6). | |
4 | Remove the closing cover with radial seal (1) on the engine block. | ||

5 | Clean the sealing surfaces. | Pay attention to thorough cleanliness. With a clean cloth, clean the sealing surfaces on the engine block, sump and the surface of the crankshaft (4). Do not use detergents or chemical products during the cleaning. | |
6 | Apply a layer of sealing compound to the sump gasket at the points indicate with arrows. | ||
7 | Install the closing cover with radial seal (1). | Pay attention and do not damage the special tool in the contact area with the seal. After its utilization, clean it thoroughly and protect it with a protection cap. | |
8 | Install the assembly bushing (2) on the end of the crankshaft (4) and carefully insert the closing cover with radial seal (1) and, next, lift-off the assembly bushing (2). | While inserting the cover with radial seal be careful not to damage the oil pan gasket. The sealing edge (3) of the radial seal must not be expanded and will have to touch the crankshaft (4). | |
9 | Tighten the bolts of the closing cover with radial seal (1). | Apply first the bottom bolts (6) and, next, the bolts (5) and then tighten them. | |

10 | Lift-off the wooden block between the engine and the front axle. | ||
11 | Install the flywheel. | ||
12 | Fill the engine oil pan with engine oil. | ||

Risk of injuries due to trapping or burning when intervening during engine start or while it is in motion. | Protect the vehicle against a possible automatic start-up. Wear tight and closed working clothes. Do not touch heated or moving parts. | |
13 | Check for oil tightness. | Start the engine, allow it to heat up, stop it and check it for tightness. |
