Remove/install

Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key

Remove spark plugs

Replace spark plugs

Move piston of cylinder to be checked to the center bolt of the crankshaft at BDC


Do not crank engine in opposite direction of engine rotation.
Damage and measurement errors can occur otherwise.

To do this rotate engine at crankshaft center bolt.

Connect up cylinder illumination unit (1) and lead flexible endoscope (2) through the spark plug bore

Check cylinder barrel for scoring

Remove cylinder head

Only if required.

If there is 'scoring' (wear to the cylinder), the cylinder barrel has become rough and honing marks are no longer visible. For more detailed establishment of the damages, remove cylinder head.

Install in the reverse order
