Remove spark plug from the cylinder to be tested.



Remove delivery pumps of front electrohydraulic suspension with connected lines from front axle carrier and secure against falling down.

Remove stabilizer bar.

Turn engine at center bolt of the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation until the piston of the cylinder to be checked is at bottom dead center (BDC).

 Aid of helper required.

 Ring wrench

Connect endoscope(1) and insert endoscope optics through spark plug bore into cylinder to be checked.



Check

Check cylinder barrels.

General information on inspecting cylinder walls

 If there is 'scoring' (wear to the cylinder), the cylinder barrel has become rough and honing marks are no longer visible.

If the condition of the cylinder barrels is not clearly recognizable,



Remove the relevant cylinder head.

Remove endoscope optics with endoscope (1).


