 Caution

Risk of injury to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing engine oil

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

Remove/install

Remove spark plug at cylinder to be checked.



Remove center and front bottom engine compartment lining.

Turn engine at center bolt of the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation until the piston of the cylinder to be checked is at bottom dead center (BDC).

Connect endoscope (1) and insert endoscope optics through spark plug bore into cylinder to be checked.



Check cylinder barrels.

 If there is 'scoring' (wear to the cylinder), the cylinder barrel has become rough and honing marks are no longer visible.

If the condition of the cylinder barrels is not clearly recognizable,



Remove the relevant cylinder head.
