Do not carry out any work on system when it is pressurized.

Remove/install

1

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2  m).

Remove fuel injectors of cylinders 1 to 4 (Y76/1 to Y76/4).

Remove front section of the fender liner in the front right fender.

Turn engine at belt pulley of crankshaft in direction of engine rotation until piston of cylinder to be checked is at bottom dead center (BDC).


Do not reverse crank the engine.
The timing chain can skip otherwise and cause engine damage.

Check cylinder barrel for scoring.

 If there is 'scoring' (wear to the cylinder), the cylinder barrel has become rough and honing marks are no longer visible.

If the condition of the cylinder barrel is not clearly recognizable,



Remove cylinder head.

Perform check of additional cylinders in same manner.

Install in the reverse order.
