| Remove/install | ||
1 | Remove fuel injectors of cylinders 1 to 4 (Y76/1 to Y76/4). | ||
2 | Remove front section of the fender liner in the front right fender. | ||
3 | Position piston of the cylinder to be checked at the center bolt of the crankshaft to bottom dead center. | Rotate engine at center Bolt, crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation. Do not turn engine against the direction of rotation. | |
4 | Connect light source (1) and insert endoscope (2) through the bore of the fuel injector into the cylinder. | ||

5 | Check cylinder barrel for scoring. | ||

If there is 'scoring' (wear to the cylinder), the cylinder barrel has become rough and honing marks are no longer visible. | |||
If the condition of the cylinder barrel is not clearly recognizable, | |||

Remove cylinder head. | |||
6 | Perform check of other cylinders in the same way. | ||
7 | Install in the reverse order. |
