 	Remove/install
1	Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m)
2	Open engine hood
3	Remove air filter housing		AR09.10-P-1150AL
4	Remove bottom section of soundproofing		AR94.30-P-5300AK
5.1	Remove primary catalytic converter	Vehicles without a diesel particulate filter
			AR49.10-P-5510AL
5.2	Remove catalytic converter	Vehicles with diesel particulate filter
			AR49.10-P-5500AK
6	Remove exhaust gas ATL		AR09.40-P-6020AL
7	Remove rail		AR07.03-P-1010AL
8	Remove fuel injectors		AR07.16-P-1000AL
9	Rotate engine at crankshaft center bolt in direction of engine rotation until the piston of cylinder to be checked is at bottom dead center (BDC)		AR01.00-P-0100AL
10	Connect endoscope (1) and introduce flexible test probe (2) of endoscope (1) through the bore of the injectors in the cylinder and inspect cylinder with light probe

	Check
11	Check cylinder barrel	Remove/install cylinder head	AR01.30-P-5800AL
	General information on inspecting cylinder walls		AH01.00-P-0300-01A
		For a roughened cylinder barrel and honing traces which are no longer visible
		
		Remove cylinder head
12	Check other cylinders in the same way
13	Install in the reverse order
