1 | Disconnect battery ground line | ||
2 | Remove front bumper. | ||
3 | Remove intercooler | ||
4 | Detach coupling from outside temperature indicator temperature sensor (B14) | ||
5 | Loosen charge air hose | ||
6 | Loosen engine wiring harness at splash wall | ||
7 | Loosen vacuum line to brake booster | ||
8 | Disconnect line to boost pressure sensor | ||
9 | Disconnect turbocharging pressure regulating line | ||
10 | Detach clip for the manual transmission wiring harness | Manual transmission. | |
11 | Detach clip for power steering pump wiring harness | ||
12 | Detach clip for automatic transmission wiring harness | Automatic transmission. | |
13 | Remove retaining clamps (12) at the radiator | Inspect rubber base (11), replace if necessary. | |
14 | Remove air intake scoop (13) and detach air intake line (15) at front end cross member (14) | ||
15 | Turn steering wheel into middle position and withdraw ignition lock | The front wheels must be in the straight-ahead position. | |
16 | Unscrew bolt (8) and detach steering coupling (6) at the steering shaft (5), take off thrust piece (7) | Installation: Replace nut bracket (9). | |

17 | Remove bottom section of soundproofing | Front engine compartment paneling, front right engine compartment paneling, front left engine compartment paneling and front underfloor paneling. | |
18 | Take out screws (17) and remove cover (16) on left and right at front axle carrier (1) | ||
19 | Disconnect exhaust system at flange connection | ||
20 | Unscrew bolt (19) and detach starter/alternator wiring harness (18) at oil pan | ||
21 | Unscrew bolt (21) and disconnect ground cable (20) at oil pan | With code (HZ6) Warm water auxiliary heater with timer. | |
22 | Unscrew bolt (4) Take off strut (3) on left and right at front axle carrier (1) and at underfloor | | |
23 | Detach bracket for AC line at rear right of front axle carrier (1) | With code (HZ6) Warm water auxiliary heater with timer. | |
24 | Turn out screws (22) on both sides | Bolt, front-axle carrier to body | |
25 | Position removal device of front axle carrier (10) against front axle carrier (1) | ||
26 | Unscrew bolts (2) on both sides | Bolt, front-axle carrier to body | |
27 | Carefully lower front axle carrier (1) with engine | Lower max. 80 mm to prevent damage. Installation: Guides (arrows) on the front-axle carrier (1) must be inserted into the holes in the longitudinal member. Pay attention to guides at radiator. | |
28 | Install in the reverse order |
