Danger! | Risk of injury to skin and eyes from scalding from hot coolant which splashes out. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. | Do not open the cooling system unless the coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and allow the pressure to release. Do not pour coolant into containers for drinks. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. | |
3 | Open expansion reservoir cover | ||
4 | Check coolant level and top up if necessary | ||
5 | Unscrew oil filler cap | ||
6 | Pull air hose off charge air distributor pipe | ||
7 | Attach graduated scale to vibration damper | Graduated scale for vibration damper | |

9 | Tighten connector (3) with connecting piece (2) | | |
10 | Install holding interlock for crankshaft/starter ring gear | ||
11 | Connect cylinder leaktightness tester (1) | ||
12 | Calibrate tester and tighten connecting hose (4) | Follow the operating instructions. | |

13 | Apply compressed-air to cylinder and read off pressure drop on tester (1) | ||
If there is an increased pressure drop, determine cause. | |||

14 | Test the other cylinders in the engine firing order | Firing order Remove retaining lock, turn crankshaft further and install. | |
15 | Install in the reverse order |
