Check boots and joints of tie rods (10l)

Check boots for condition, leaks and correct seating. Check ball joints for play by pulling and pushing firmly on the tie rods (10l). If problems exist:

Replace tie rod (10l).

Check boots (10f)

Do not check the bellows (10f) by pressing in or around the beads as this causes damage to the material, eventually resulting in leaks.

Stretch bellows (10f) by turning steering to left and right wheel lock; check for cracks, indentations and chafing. If problems exist:

Replace boot (10f).
