1 | Perform test drive to warm up the transmission oil and place vehicle on a horizontal surface | The transmission oil temperature must be 71 to 93°C for the test. | |
2 | Select gear selector position N and allow engine to run in idle | ||
3 | Clean area around oil dipstick (1) | Extreme cleanliness must be ensured whenever work is carried out on an automatic transmission. Dirt in the oil circuit can cause malfunctions and damage to the transmission parts. | |
4 | Detach oil dipstick (1), pull out and clean | To detach oil dipstick, turn handle to the left. | |
5 | Inspect transmission oil level | The transmission oil must stand on the oil dipstick (1) within the HOT ADD and HOT FULL marking. | |
A lack of transmission oil or excessive amounts of transmission oil can lead to malfunctions and damage to transmission parts on for an automatic transmission. | |||
Transmission oil level too low: | |||
Top up missing transmission oil via the oil measurement and oil filler pipe (2). | |||
