Checking



Only carry out leakage check with cold engine

Ensure that all shut-off and regulating valves for the cooling and heating system are open

 See Operating Instructions

Engine cooling system - checking and correcting fluid level as required

Unscrew cap (1) on coolant expansion reservoir

Connect up tester (3)

 Attach tester (3) at coolant filler neck and connect compressed air line with tire inflation connection to valve (2).



Apply test pressure to the cooling and heating system

 The test pressure must not exceed
1.2 bar to avoid damaging the cooling and heating system.

 The test pressure represents the opening pressure of the cooling system. The opening pressure is recognizable from the code number on the cap or the pressure relief valve. For example, the code 40 represents an overpressure of 0.4 bar.

Test the radiator, coolant expansion reservoir, coolant pump, oil cooler, engine cap and the heat exchanger for heating system and Voith retarder for leaks

 The appropriate components must be repaired or replaced against a separate order if damage or any other deficiency is discovered.

Check all lines and hoses on the cooling and heating system for leaks, damage and chafe-free routing and fixing

 The appropriate components must be repaired or replaced against a separate order if damage or any other deficiency is discovered.

Check radiator for external contamination

 Radiator fins must not be blocked with dirt;



get the radiator fins cleaned against a separate order if necessary.

Detach tester (3) and screw on cap (1)

 Release pressure in cooling and heating system at valve (2) of the tester (3).
