Navigation

The CD-ROM inserted in the navigation processor (A2/30), the language must be loaded. The current location must be known to the APS system (possibly enter manually).

On the radio and navigation operating unit (A2/29): Press the "NAV" key. Using "ENTER ADDRESS" menu, enter suggested destination and drive off on the test route.

A route calculation can take up to 30 s.

The drive recommendations for the destination are given over the radio loudspeaker and shown on the display of A2/29.

"OFF ROAD" appears in the display if the vehicle is on a "non-digitized" road (company grounds, multi-storey car park, track across fields).

"OFF MAP" appears on journeys outside the digitized map limits (abroad).

Telematics dynamic route navigation with TCS (traffic center service) (with code 815 only)

The telephone SIM card must be inserted and appropriately configured. If possible, position the vehicle in open air (for interference-free telephone reception)

Press the "NAV" key on the radio and navigation operating unit (APS) (A2/29).

Activate the "TRAFFIC-INFO SOURCE" in the "SETTING" menu. Select "TCS (CHARGES)" and activate "SINGLE INQUIRY".

Enter vehicle destination

Activate "DYNAM.ROUTE(TCS)"

Note display on radio and navigation operating unit (APS) (A2/29): The TCS symbol shows black text on a light background.

In addition an antenna symbol appears. This signals that the telephone system is sending data to the service provider. The symbol disappears again if the service provider has replied.

As soon as all the traffic information for the navigation system is available, the TCS symbol changes to light text on a dark background.

The TCS symbol disappears after 30 min. if no further traffic information has been received in that time.

The traffic messages can be read by pressing the"Detour" key and activating the"TRAFFIC INFO (TCS)" menu. Information on national highways is also shown; however, for the recalculation of a route, only messages that concern national motorways and lie on the route destination are relevant.
