Remove/install

Remove air intake line upstream of exhaust gas turbocharger (6).

Release charge air pipe upstream of the charge air cooler (2).

 Do not remove charge air cooler.

Remove screw (3).

 Screw, charge air pipe downstream of exhaust gas turbocharger on holder

Unscrew screws (4) and remove bracket (5).

 Screw, holder to charge air pipe/exhaust gas turbocharger

Pull charge air pipe (1) out of the exhaust gas turbocharger (6).

Operation steps 5 and 6 are shown.

Pull charge air pipe (1) out of the charge air pipe upstream of the charge air cooler (2) and remove.

Seal openings using protective cover.

Remove O-rings (7) from the charge air pipe (1).

If the charge air pipe (1) is being reused.

 Installation: Install new O-rings (7) and coat with lubricant.

Install in the reverse order.



 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
