Take care not to damage the machined seat of the rubber cap (10). | |||
Install: If necessary, replace the rubber cover with a metal cover (10a) with a sealing ring. This modification requires changing the fixed bearing cartridge with a new A002 420 03 83 cartridge that includes the new metal cover with the sealing ring. | |||
Use a new screw (40) and apply the specified torque: | |||

4.2 | Remove the metal cover (10a) by gently tapping it with a copper or brass hammer at alternating spots, as shown in the figure, and remove the screw (40) from the fixed bearing | Series SB7000 calipers equipped with a metal cover (10a) at the fixed bearing. | |
A repair kit is supplied with a metal cover (10a) and the sealing ring (10.1a). This cover applies to the calipers where cartridge A002 420 03 83 has already been applied to the fixed bearing. | |||
Install: Use a new screw (40) and apply the specified torque: | |||

6 | Loosen the screw (39). The metal cover (68a) will be removed by loosening the screw (39) | Series SB7000 calipers equipped with a Type-2 rubber sleeve (6c) on the floating bearing. | |
Before removing the retaining screw (39), make sure that the caliper does not move or fall, thus preventing damage and accidents. | |||
Install: Use a new screw (39) and apply the specified torque: | |||

7 | Remove the brake caliper (1) | Hold the brake caliper only from the outside. Never place your fingers between the caliper and the brake holder. | |
