Remove and install

Discharge the pneumatic system

Removing the drag axle wheels

Support the vehicle rear part on stands safely placed under the chassis side rails

Excessive strokes damage the shock absorbers.

Detach the ABS sensors on both sides

Detach the compressed air connections (19) from the brake cylinder



Remove the wear sensor connector (18) on both sides

Lightly support the axle with an appropriate lifting device for removal

Loosen, at the bottom end, the shock absorber (10) of the bottom transversal arm (9) on both sides

Before disassembling, pay attention to the correct assembly position of the mount plates (13, 14) of the shock absorbers (10).

Installing: Replace the nut (12) and tighten to the specified torque



Remove the fastening bolts (15) of the pneumatic bellows (16) on both sides

Installing: Tighten the fastening bolt (15) to the specified torque.



Remove the nut (6) on the steering arm (7) and loosen the steering rod (8) on both sides

Installing: Replace the nut (6) and tighten to the specified torque

Remove the nuts (4) from the bottom cross member beam (5) on both sides

Installing: Replace the nut (4) and tighten to the specified torque



Remove the fastening bolts (1) from the top support on both sides

Installing: Tighten the fastening bolt (1) and tighten to the specified torque.



Carefully lower the drag axle with the appropriate device and remove it from underneath the vehicle

Carefully separate the pneumatic bellows (16) from the linkage arm (20) and secure the same to the top support with the help of a suitable strap.

Install in reverse order

Check the convergence and, if necessary, adjust

Program the auxiliary steered axle system (ZL) with the help of the STAR DIAGNOSIS
