Disassemble

1

Remove and disassemble the multiplier group

Remove planetary gear set (3) from ring gear (6) or support (8) as illustrated (arrows A)

Disassemble the planet assembly (3) with slight hits on a wood support.

Remove synchronizer ring (17), synchronizer cone (12), spacer ring (11), and coupling sleeve (16)

Remove the lock-ring (15)

Remove the synchronizing body (14)

Use a proper puller and the pressure support (18).

Remove follower ring (10) with synchronizer cone (12)

Remove ring spring (13) and withdraw synchronizer cone (12) from follower ring (10)

Remove lock (4) and ball bearing (5) from ring gear (6)

Ring gear, solid version (6).

Remove lock (4) and ball bearing (5) from support (8)

Only for ring gear (7), split version.

Remove lock (9) and withdraw ring gear (7) from support (8)

Only for ring gear (7), split version.

Disassemble the planet assembly (3)

Remove locking ring (1) and oil tube (2)

Assembly

Check for signs of wear between synchronizer cones (12) and shifting collar (16)

Install oil tube (2) and locking ring (1)

Assemble the planet assembly (3)

Mount support (8) on ring gear (7) and install lock (9)

Only for ring gear (7), split version.

Mount ball bearing (5) on ring gear (6) or on support (8) of ring gear (7) and install lock (4)

Heat ball bearing (5) - already mounted on ring gear (6) or on support (8) - to a temperature of 80 °C and install it on planetary gear set (3)

Install follower ring (10)

Mount ring spring (13) on synchronizer cone (12) and press it onto follower ring (10)

 Check the ring spring (13) for wearing, if necessary replace. Grease the synchronizing cone (12).

Heat synchronizer body (14) to 80 °C and place it on ring gear (6), or on support (8)

 The synchronizing body long collar (14) must indicate to the output.

Install the locking ring (15)

Mount spacer ring (11)

The oil hole (arrow B) must indicate to the planet assembly (3).

Install the coupling sleeve (16)

the collar (arrow C) of the coupling sleeve (16) must indicate to the output.

Mount ring spring (13) on synchronizer cone (12) and press it onto synchronizer ring (17)

 Check the ring spring (13) for wearing, if necessary replace. Grease the synchronizing cone (12).
