	Remove and install
1	Remove the piston (4)		AR03.10-B-7021A
2	Remove from the piston (4), the rings in the order, (1), (2) and (3)	 Adjust the pliers (5) with the screw, limiting ring opening to a diameter slightly above piston outside diameter.

	Check:
3	Check the pistons for damage and/or wear in the ring grooves	In case of reutilization, remove carefully the incrusted charcoal residues in the grooves and on the piston upper part. Replace the piston that shows ring groove damage and/or wear.
4	Check the piston rings for damage and/or wear	Replace rings that show lateral wear, cracks and/or material loosening from surface layer. Installing: The marking ‘TOP’ on the piston rings will have to be directed to the piston crown.
	Measure
5	Measure the ring gap (1) and (2)	Insert and seat perfectly the ring, in the area of the cylinder which is not worn (above the upper point of inversion of the 1st ring movement).	*BE03.10-B-1002-05E
		Universal Feeler Gauge from 0.05 to 1 mm
6	Measure the ring gap (3)	Remove the tubular spring (3.1) from oil control ring (3). Insert and seat perfectly the ring, in the area of the cylinder which is not worn (above the upper point of inversion of the 1st ring movement).

		Universal Feeler Gauge from 0.05 to 1 mm
		Installing: Install tubular spring (3.1) into oil control ring (3). Position opening (ends) of tubular spring (3.1), offset by 180o from opening (ends) of oil control ring (3).
7	Install in the reverse order
8	Check the rings side clearance in the grooves		*BE03.10-B-1003-05E
