Clutch actuation - replace brake fluid

Drain and store brake fluid only in the original packing. Wear protective clothing and glasses.

While bleeding, if the system has pressure and the bleeding screw is closed, the clutch pedal must not be actuated

Remove the reservoir cap (1) and vacuum the old brake fluid

On model 979.0, the reservoir is located behind the instrument cluster, for access to the reservoir, remove the dashboard left side end cover.

On model 979.2, the reservoir is located ahead of the driver and access is gained through the body front end cover.

Connect the  bleeding equipment to the reservoir (1) neck

Follow the instructions contained on the brake fluid bleeding equipment.

Lift off the protection cap and connect a transparent hose on the bleeding screw (2) on the gearbox front end case

The hose serves to direct the fluid, coming out the bleeding screw, to the catch reservoir.

Loosen the bleeding screw (2)

Keep the bleeding screw loose until new brake fluid, free of air bubbles, comes out.

The transparent hose permits to visualize the air bubbles flowing through it.

Do not re-utilize drained fluid, as it can damage the actuation system.

Tighten the bleeding screw (2), remove the hose and reinstall the protection cap

Disconnect the bleeding equipment and detach it from the reservoir (1)

Fill the reservoir (1) with new brake fluid

Check the clutch actuation system for tightness.
