Remove

 Danger !

Risk of death from lowering vehicle when working between wheels and body. Risk of injury from pinching or crushing when working on the air suspension.

Testing and repair work between the wheel and wheel arch or in the wheel well should only be performed if the vehicle is secured using suitable support fixtures to prevent it from lowering.
Adjustment operations should only be performed from underneath the vehicle.
Use only suitable support fixtures to secure the vehicle frame or vehicle axles in order to prevent them from lowering.
If necessary, additionally use suitable support fixtures in order to prevent other moving vehicle parts that are in the working area from lowering, or use suitable retaining devices to prevent these parts from moving suddenly and without warning.
Secure areas with moving vehicle parts against unauthorized access.

Switch on ignition

Lower vehicle frame fully using level control operating unit

Switch off ignition

Fully drain compressed air system

Disconnect electrical connection (4)

Mark compressed air lines (3) in accordance with connection designations at the solenoid valve for level control (1)

Remove compressed air lines (3)



Remove solenoid valve for level control (1) from bracket (2)

 The solenoid valve for level control (1) and screws/bolts for mounting to bracket (2) are no longer required.
With regard to return shipment or scrapping of removed parts, please observe the information in your warranty system.



Install

Mount bracket (5) to bracket (2)

 Install screw/bolt (6) from below.

Install new solenoid valve for level control (1)

 Install two shims (arrows) between both the solenoid valve for level control (1) and the bracket (5) so that there is clearance between the screw/bolt (6) and solenoid valve for level control (1).

Attach compressed air lines (3)

 Observe markings.

Join electrical connection (4) with adapter cable (7) and connect adapter cable (7) to solenoid valve for level control (1)

Fasten electrical connection (4) and adapter cable (7) to existing wiring harness


Fasten connector of electrical connection (4) and of adapter cable (7) so that there are no physical shocks and no movements at the connector or wiring harness.
This could cause chafe marks or cable breakage.



Check

 Danger !

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Start engine and completely inflate air brake system with idle speed

Raise and lower vehicle frame fully multiple times using level control operating unit and then set to driving level

Stop engine and switch off ignition

17

Check compressed air lines (3) for leaks
