Checking

Remove soundproofing below the engine

Check whether the bracket (24) is already installed

 If the bracket (24) is already installed:



Install soundproofing under the engine again and complete measure.

If the bracket (24) is not installed:



Retrofit bracket (24) for coolant pipe (from operation step 3).

Install bracket for coolant pipe

Switch off ignition

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Partially drain coolant at radiator

Risk of injury caused by pinching or crushing when working on springs or spring bodies that are under tension

Use only approved tensioning devices; shield off hazard area if necessary.
Inspect special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection).
Wear protective gloves.

Release poly-V belt and remove from A/C compressor (18)

Remove retaining clamps (13) of coolant pipe (14) from bracket (15)

Remove retaining clamps (16) of refrigerant lines (17) from bracket (15)

Remove bracket (15)

Detach electrical connector for magnetic clutch of A/C compressor (18)

Remove bolts (19) from A/C compressor (18)

11

Remove A/C compressor (18) with connected refrigerant lines (17) downward

 Fasten A/C compressor (18) using wire to a suitable position.

Remove bolts (21) from carrier (22) of A/C compressor (18)

 With regard to return shipment or scrapping of removed parts, please observe the information in your warranty system.

Remove coolant pipe (14) from coolant hose (9)

14

Remove retaining clamps (13) from coolant pipe (14) rotate through 180° and slide back on to the coolant pipe (14)

15

Mount coolant pipe (14) onto coolant hose (9)

16

Remove retaining clamps (23) for transmission fluid lines

 Only on vehicles with code (N55) transmission oil cooling.

Install new bracket (24) for coolant pipe (14)

For vehicles without code (N55) Transmission oil cooling



Fit new bracket (24) using retaining clamps (23) for transmission fluid lines

For vehicles with code (N55) Transmission oil cooling:

Fit retaining clamps (13) of coolant pipe (14) onto new bracket (24)

 Mount retaining clamps (13) free of tension, if necessary realign position of coolant pipe (14).

Install carrier (22) of A/C compressor (18) using new bolts (21)



Install A/C compressor (18)



Connect electrical connector for magnetic clutch of A/C compressor (18)

 Use new cable tie.

Install bracket (15)

Mount retaining clamps (16) of refrigerant lines (17) onto bracket (15)

 Danger!
