MODEL 944 with ENGINE 457.9 with CODE (MZ5) Electromagnetic fan drive (Linnig clutch)
For specific reasons we would like to point out that on vehicles with electro-magnetic fan drive (Linnig clutch) the actuation temperature of the fan and thereby the temperature level of the coolant is higher than on vehicles with bi-metal viscous clutch.
This is not a malfunction, but has been designed for optimization of the fuel consumption.
If, however, the complaint "Coolant temperature too high" should occur, it is necessary to check the temperature switching points.
If the temperature switching points are okay and the fan does not start, the electro-magnetic fan drive is defective
