Notes on the disposal of catalytic converters in retrofit systems for diesel particulate reduction

Catalytic converters must not be disposed of as regular scrap. The catalytic converter contains valuable rare metals, which can be recycled in the production process.

Via the LC, Daimler Chrysler offers a return facility, in accordance with DACG regulations, with a refund value compensation for old catalytic converters returned appropriately. In D, A, CH and the Benelux countries, catalytic converters are returned via MeRSy recycling management; in other countries, via the ELC.

Return of uninstalled oxidation catalytic converters:

Uninstalled catalytic converters must be returned via MeRSy recycling management/ELC for conditioning.

Return of retrofit systems (where replacements required):

Retrofit systems are also returned via the MeRSy system/ELC (1 item)
