b Control pressure
Operation:
As the air is compressed by the compressor (1.01), it flows to the pressure regulating valve (2.01) and to the automatic drain valve (6.02) of the humid air tank (5.01).
The pressure regulating valve (2.01) regulates the pneumatic pressure. The air with constant and regulated pressure flows through the coolant expansion tank (5.06), which eliminates the pressure pulses created by the compressor and distributes the compressed airflow to the compressed air tank (5.01), which performs the condensation of the already-existing water in the air. This valve is drained via the automatic drain valve (6.02), which is commanded by the manual parking brake valve.
After the water condensation, the compressed air will reach the four-circuit protection valve (4.03), which distributes the compressed air to the various pneumatic circuits of the brake system (service braking, parking brake, auxiliary circuits, etc). It also guarantees a minimum pressure for each of the circuits.
As an addition, on output 23 of the four-circuit protection valve (4.03) a check valve can be found (8.02), which will let the air flow out but will not allow its return, as it will only keep the circuit linked to connector 2 supplied, in case of leakage.
