Function
The PEC control module (A13) controls the primary winding (L1) of the ignition coils (R9, R39) at the negative side. The primary current flow is interrupted at the ignition timing point. As a result of a sudden collapse of the magnetic field in the primary winding, the ignition voltage is generated in the primary and secondary windings by means of a rapid voltage increase. The ignition voltage flows simultaneously through outputs (circuit 2.1, circuit 2.2) to 2 spark plugs each (E83+E86, E84+E85). 2 ignition sparks are generated in the ignition coils of each cylinder during each cycle (720° crank angle); once in the power stroke, once in the exhaust stroke.
