Remove/install

Place steering column in the central height position

2

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m)

Disconnect ground line of battery

Insert screwdriver bit into openings (arrows) on steering wheel (2) and remove screws/bolts at left and right from driver airbag (1)

Remove driver airbag (1) far enough from steering wheel (2) so that the electrical connectors (7, 8) are accessible

On steering wheel in 3-spoke design.

5.2

Remove driver airbag (1) far enough from steering wheel (2) until electrical connector (6) is accessible

On steering wheel in 4-spoke design.

Disconnect electrical connections (7)

Disconnect electrical connector (6)

On steering wheel in 4-spoke design.

Remove driver airbag (1) from steering wheel (2) until electrical connectors (5) are accessible

Release lock tabs (4) and disconnect electrical connectors (5)

 Removal lever

Remove driver airbag (1) from steering wheel (2)

Install in the reverse order



Check

12

Check and erase vehicle fault memory using the diagnostic system

When replacing the driver airbag (1).


