Remove/install

Place steering column in the central height position

2

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m)

Disconnect ground line of battery

Insert screwdriver bit into openings (arrows) on steering wheel (2) and remove screws/bolts from driver airbag (1)

Remove driver airbag (1) far enough from steering wheel (2) so that electrical connectors (5, 6, 7) are accessible

Release and disconnect electrical connectors (7)

Release and disconnect electrical connector (6)

Release lock tabs (4) and release and disconnect electrical connectors (5)

Remove driver airbag (1) from steering wheel (2)

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check and erase vehicle fault memory using the diagnostic system

After replacing driver airbag (1).


