Risk of poisoning caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors from an air conditioning system containing R134a. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid R134a refrigerant and when working on pressurized parts

Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated rooms. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been evacuated.

Remove/install

Discharge air conditioning system.

Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air filter housing.

Remove poly-V-belt from refrigerant compressor with magnetic clutch (A9/7).

Remove bolts (1).

Remove refrigerant lines (3) from refrigerant compressor with magnetic clutch (A9/7) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.

 Installation: Install new sealing rings.

Release and disconnect electrical connector (4).

Unscrew screws (5) and remove refrigerant compressor with magnetic clutch (A9/7).

 If necessary, push the coolant line (2) to the side.

 Bolt, refrigerant compressor to oil filter/major assembly carrier/crankcase/carrier

Install in the reverse order.

Perform break-in of refrigerant compressor with magnetic clutch (A9/7).

When replacing refrigerant compressor with magnetic clutch (A9/7).


