Risk of poisoning caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors from an air conditioning system containing R134a. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid R134a refrigerant and when working on pressurized parts

Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated rooms. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been evacuated.

Remove/install

Discharge air conditioning system.

Remove refrigerant lines (6) from condenser (1).



Compressor oils (specification 362.1)

Seal connections on refrigerant lines (6) and condenser (1).
Otherwise the air conditioning system can be damaged.

 Remove screw/bolt (5) to do this.

 Installation: Replace sealing rings and moisten with compressor oil.

Disconnect electrical connection (4).

Remove upper front crossmember.

Remove additional cooler.

Remove automatic transmission oil cooler from condenser (1).

 Do not remove oil hoses.

Remove bolt (3) .

Detach condenser (1) from cooler (2).

Remove condenser (1).


Carefully remove condenser (1) upwards.
Otherwise, there may be damage to the condenser (1), cooler (2), additional cooler and automatic transmission oil cooler.

Install in the reverse order.
