Prerequisites for testing | |||
1 | Park the vehicle in the shade with its windows open | ||
2 | Adjust rotary switch for heater control (5) to maximum cooling capacity | ||
3 | Start engine and run at idle | ||

4 | Switch on roof air conditioning and adjust maximum cooling capacity at temperature controller for roof air conditioning (4) | When the roof air conditioning is switched on, a slight change in engine speed must be discernible. | |
5 | Set blower switch for roof air conditioning (3) to position "II" | ||
6 | Measure temperature using temperature gauge (1) at center air outlet opening | After approx. 5 min the temperature of the air flowing in has to be 7 to 10 °C below the temperature of the air suctioned in. | |
If the correct outlet air temperature is not reached: | |||
| Check air conditioning system for proper function | ||

7 | Switch the air conditioning off and shut the automotive engine off |
