Completely open sliding roof lining on sliding roof

Remove inside rearview mirror (A67)

Slightly fold back foam material (12) and disconnect electrical connectors (13)

 Installation:
Completely pull foam material (12) over electrical connector (13).
Otherwise noises can occur.

Remove left and right sun visor (2).

Unclip left and right cover (3) from roof lining (1)

Remove left and right A-pillar trim (4)

Remove front grab handles (5) and rear grab handles (6)

Remove left and right top B-pillar trim (7)

Remove left and right C-pillar trim (8) and place to one side with installed seat belt

Remove left and right front seat

Remove center console

Remove edge guards (9) in area of roof lining (1) from body flange

Press together the catch hooks (arrows) and unclip roof lining (1) from front roof frame

Detach headliner (1) on magnets (10) from roof bow

 Helper required for holding headliner (1).

Push headliner (1) toward rear until guide hooks (11) are unhooked from rear roof frame and lay headliner (1) down into vehicle

 Helper required.

Remove headliner (1) through rear left door cutout from vehicle as shown


Do not bend headliner (1) excessively.
Otherwise the headliner (1) can kink and be damaged.

Check all dampings on roof lining (1) for correct seat and status

Where roof lining (1) is reused.

If complaint present



Replace affected dampings on roof lining (1).

Prepare new headliner (1) for installation

When replacing roof paneling (1).
