Requirements:
Battery is removed or disconnected from on-board electrical system.
During the preceding battery test, a "Surface voltage detected" message appears in the battery tester/test equipment display.
1 | Disconnect battery tester. |
2 | Set rotary knob (3) on load tester (1) to 16 V and rotary knob (4) to 50 A. |
3 | Clip load pliers (5) onto the battery. |
4 | Connect terminals (7) to corresponding load clamps (5). |
5 | Position current clamp (6) around battery positive line. |
Pay attention to current direction. Measurement conducted using an inductive coil in the current clamp (6). |
6 | Switch on load tester (1) using operating lever (2) and apply a load of 20 A to 30 A to battery for approx. 60 s. |
The increased voltage is now reduced. |
