Purpose:
Load tester for loading the vehicle on-board network for the alternator charge current checking.
Test equipment category CAT_B.

Note:

These testers are not approved by Mercedes-Benz for obtaining findings on the starter battery.

Minimum requirements:

 The load tester is suitable for a direct voltage of up to 30 V.

 The load allows itself to be set steplessly or in steps of a maximum of 0.5 kW.

 The engageable load is at least 2.1 kW for a duty cycle of at least 15 seconds.

 The flow of current is interrupted during clamping on and disconnecting the tester on the on-board electrical system.

The usual designations for volt amp(s) tester on the free market include: load tester, Carbon Pile Load, battery tester or electronic load.
