Remove/install

Remove rear engine compartment lining at bottom.

 Installation: Only install the rear engine compartment paneling at the bottom after having completed the leak test.

Remove NOx sensor downstream of SCR catalytic converter (N37/8b1) at exhaust system.

 Installation: Coat thread of union nut of NOx sensor downstream of SCR catalytic converter (N37/8b1) with heat-resistant lubricating paste.

Expose electric line (2) at engine and at transmission.

Release and disconnect electrical connector at electrical connection (5).

Unscrew nuts (4).

Remove NOx sensor downstream of SCR catalytic converter (N37/8b1) with NOx sensor control unit downstream of SCR catalytic converter (N37/8).

Install in the reverse order.

Connect vehicle diagnosis system and adapt software calibration number in CDI control unit (N3/9).

When replacing NOx sensor downstream of SCR catalytic converter (N37/8b1).



Read out and delete fault memory.



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check exhaust system in terms of leak tightness.
