Turn fuel level sensor (B39) counterclockwise and pull out of fuel tank (4)


Very carefully pull fuel level sensor (B39) upwards for the fuel line version with securing clamp (A).
The measuring lever (6) consisting of a thin wire and the attached measuring electronics may be damaged otherwise.

 Some attachments or bodies make access to fuel level sensor (B39) difficult, and thus obstruct its removal and installation.

With poor accessibility of fuel level sensor (B39)



Remove fuel tank (4) or combination fuel tank, and then pull out fuel level sensor (B39).

Remove fuel tank (4).

Remove fuel tank (4).

Remove combination fuel tank.
Engine 470.9, 471.9, 473.9

 Installation: Replace sealing ring (5).

Install in the reverse order

Start engine and perform an engine test run

Switch off engine and check connections on fuel level sensor (B39) for leaktightness

 Visual inspection.
