| Before installing, clean all sealing surfaces. Install new sealing rings at banjo bolts. Seal openings of fuel lines with a plug after disconnecting. | ||
2 | Shut off fuel feed | Close shutoff cock. If not shutoff cock is fitted, it is then necessary to ensure that no fuel can flow out. | |
3 | Drain fuel filter housing | If no drain cock is fitted to the fuel filter housing: Detach return flow line at filter housing and allow fuel to run through a hose into a suitable vessel. | |
4 | Detach fuel pump feed line (2) from fuel full-flow filter (1) | The feed line of the fuel pump is marked green. | |

5 | Detach engine housing feed line (3) from fuel full-flow filter (1) | The feed line of the engine housing is marked yellow. | |

6 | Detach return flow line from fuel full-flow filter (1) | ||
7 | Remove fuel filter element | Installation: Check fuel filter element and replace if necessary. | |
| Replace fuel filter | ||
8 | Detach fuel full-flow filter (1) from mounting plate | | |
9 | Install in the reverse order | ||
10 | Bleed fuel system | ||

| Inspect | ||
Danger! | Risk of accident as vehicle may start off by itself with the engine running. Risk of injury as working around the engine during start-up or while running may result in contusions and burns | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving off by itself. | |
11 | Start engine and inspect fuel system for leaks | If the engine does not start within 30 s, wait 1 min. and repeat attempt at starting. | |
12 | Switch off engine | ||
13 | Close tailgate |
