Only pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Remove guide pulley (3)

Only on models fitted with air conditioning

Unscrew cap on fuel tank

In this way fuel can flow out of the fuel filter housing back into the fuel tank.

Remove filter insert of the fuel filter

In this way fuel flows out of the fuel filter housing back into the fuel tank.

Installation: Check seal ring (11) and filter insert; replace if necessary.

Replace fuel filter

Detach fuel line (8) at fuel pump (5)

Collect escaping fuel.

Installation: Install new sealing rings (7).

Remove the fuel pump (5)

Collect escaping fuel.

Installation: Replace gasket (6). When fitting on the fuel pump (5) the driver must not touch the dowel pin of the camshaft.

Install in the reverse order

Start engine and bleed fuel system

Run engine for approx. 1 minute. The fuel system is bled automatically.

Check for leaktightness of the fuel pump (5) for a running engine

In the event of leakage: determine and eliminate cause.

Turn off engine
