1 | Remove V-belt on fan drive | ||
2 | Swivel tensioner pulley (1) upwards and remove the poly-V belt (3) | Do not kink the poly-V belt (3), otherwise it may become damaged. | |
Only swivel tensioning pulley (1) upwards against the spring tension otherwise the bolt can loosen. | |||

3 | Check poly-V belt (3) for wear and damage | ||
| Damage profiles for poly-V belt. | ||
If wear or damage present: | |||
Replace the poly-V belt (3). | |||
4 | Check the vibration damper, the belt pulley for the alternator and the coolant pump as well as the tensioner pulley (1) | Replace damaged or worn components: | |
Remove/install belt pulley/vibration damper | |||
Remove/install alternator belt pulley | |||
Remove/install poly-V belt tensioning device | |||

| Install | ||
5 | Fit poly-V belts (3) onto the belt pulleys and the vibration damper | Do not fit belt pulley (3) onto the tensioner pulley (1) at this stage. | |
6 | Swivel tensioner pulley (1) upwards and lay on the poly-V belt (3) | Do not kink the poly-V belt (3), otherwise it may become damaged. | |
Only swivel tensioning pulley (1) upwards against the spring tension otherwise the bolt can loosen. Check for correct seating of the poly-V belt (3); align if necessary. | |||
