Disconnect/connect hydraulic lines on power steering cooler

 Warning

Risk of injury to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure.Risk of poisoning from swallowing hydraulic fluid.

Depressurize hydraulic system completely before starting any work on it. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.

Unscrew cap of expansion reservoir.

Extract hydraulic fluid from expansion reservoir using  hand pump.

If spring bracket clamps (3) are installed.
Loosen spring bracket clamps (3) using  hose clamp pliers and slide along low-pressure hoses (2).

If screw clamps (4) are installed.
Loosen screw clamps (4) and slide along low-pressure hoses (2).

Remove low-pressure hoses (2) from cooler (1).

 Collect escaping hydraulic fluid with an absorbent rag. Plug openings.  Use a set of stop plugs.

Dispose of spring bracket clamps (3) and replace with screw clamps (4).

If spring bracket clamps (3) are installed.

Attach low-pressure hoses (2) up to end position at connections of cooler (1).

 Align marking (arrow) of respective low-pressure hose (2) with marking on respective connection of cooler (1).

Slide screw clamps (4) along low-pressure hoses (2) and secure  .

 Screw clamps (4) must be positioned, as shown, between vertical lines of marking (arrow) on respective low-pressure hose (2).

If vertical lines or marking (arrow) on low-pressure hose (2) are no longer visible,



Position screw clamps (4) as per dimension (a).

Fill extracted hydraulic fluid using  hand pump.

Screw on cap of expansion reservoir.
