Risk of injury from being trapped in the swivel range of steered axles

Ensure that no persons or objects are in the swivel range of all steered axles when turning the steering wheel. Do not stand in the swivel range of the additional steering axle when the engine is running.

Risk of injury caused by body parts being pinched or crushed as cab is tilted

Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt the cab all the way to the end position and secure with the safety strut.

Remove

Move steering gear (1) to center position

Secure steering wheel (5) against turning

Tilt cab

Unscrew nut (2) from bolt (3)

 Do not yet pull bolt (3) out of universal joint.

Lower cab

Remove lower cover (6) and lower steering column trim (8) together with the boot (7)

Detach boot (9) from steering shaft (4)

Pull bolt (3) out of universal joint

Detach steering shaft (4) from steering gear (1) and then remove through opening in cab floor through the cab interior



Install

Route steering shaft (4) through the opening in the cab floor and slide onto primary shaft on steering gear (1)

 The marking (arrow) on the primary shaft of the steering gear (1) must face towards the opening of the universal joint on the steering shaft (4).

Install bolt (3) and tighten nut (2) lightly

Install boot (9)

Install lower cover (6) and lower steering column trim (8) together with the boot (7)

Tilt cab

Tighten nut (2)

 Fit bolt/nut, universal joint to steering gear

Remove anti-twist lock from steering wheel (5)

 Steering wheel, steering column bracket, steering shaft
