Remove/install

Remove steering column module.

Remove bottom trim for the instrument panel on the driver's side.

Remove driver knee airbag.

Remove footwell trim on driver's side.

Disconnect electrical connection (3).

Detach electrical connector (7).

Remove electrical wiring harness (4) and place to one side.

 Installation: Replace respective cable tie. Check retaining clips for damage.

If damage is found,



replace affected retaining clips.

Remove nut (2).

 Installation: Replace nut (2).

 Nut, steering shaft to steering column tube

Remove nuts (5).


Secure steering column tube (1) to prevent it from falling down.
Otherwise damage may occur.

Remove bolt (6).


Secure steering column tube (1) to prevent it from falling down.
Otherwise damage may occur.

Detach steering column tube (1) from steering shaft and remove.

 Installation: The steering column tube (1) only fits in one position onto the steering shaft.

Install in the reverse order.

 Headless screws/bolts: screws/bolts and nuts, coarse-pitch thread
