Risk of injury to skin and eyes due to handling of transmission oil. Health risk caused by swallowing transmission oil

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not pour transmission oil into beverage bottles.

Remove

1

Remove respective rear axle shaft.

 Do not yet dispose of nuts of threaded pins (2).

Knock-out threaded pins (2).

 To do so, flush fit old nuts of threaded pin (2) and knock out threaded pins (2) using a hammer.
Remove nuts and remove threaded pins (2). Dispose of threaded pins (2).

Detach pulse ring (1).

 Dispose of pulse ring (1).

Check

Check brake carrier plate (3) for damage.

If damage exists,



Replace brake carrier plate (3).

Install

Press new pulse ring (1) onto rear axle shaft.

 To do so, press on pulse ring (1) with suitable pressure padding (4) and suitable press-in sleeve (5), as shown.
Press on pulse ring (1) up to end stop.

Insert new threaded pins (2) into brake carrier plate (3) and wheel bearing housing.

 To do so, align bores of brake carrier plate (3) with corresponding bores of wheel hub housing.

Draw in new threaded pins (2).

 To do so, position suitable washer and one of the nuts on each threaded pin (2) and tighten nut until the collar of the threaded pin (2) makes contact with the contact surface of the brake carrier plate (3).
Then remove and dispose of nuts.

Install respective rear axle shaft.

Check

9

Read out fault memory.



Connect/disconnect diagnostic unit

If existing faults are stored,



erase the fault memory.
