Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Raise vehicle

Operate parking brake several times to ensure that the cables (1) have unobstructed movement

Release lever of parking brake

Check that rear wheels can turn freely

If the rear wheels do not turn freely:



Repair parking brake or rear service brake.



Remove

Remove rear road wheels

Remove center console

Adjust

Loosen nut (2) by several turns

Position lever of parking brake at second notch

Adjust cables (1) by tightening nut (2)

 The brake disks or brake drums must no longer be capable of being turned by hand.

Operate parking brake lever several times

Release lever of parking brake



Check

Check whether brake disks or brake drums can be turned by hand

If this is not the case:



Slacken nut (2) gradually and repeat adjustment


The brake disks or brake drums must turn freely.
Otherwise malfunctions and damage may occur through incorrect adjustment of the parking brake.


