Unclip cover (2)

Remove adjusting nut (3) and screw new nut onto thread. Lower parking brake lever (1) fully



 Nut must always be replaced.

 The thread must fit flush with the nut (3).

Check condition of brake system on rear axle, reset brake shoes and position again using the adjustment

 Lower vehicle far enough so that the wheels can still turn.

Adjust free travel on parking brake lever (1) using nut (3)

 A noticeable free travel of approx. 2 to 3 mm must be given, before the brake cables can be tightened.

Turn wheels on rear axle

 The wheels must turn freely.

If brake shoes are making contact



Check brake cables for unobstructed movement and adjust free travel again

Tighten parking brake lever (1) up to third notch

Turn wheels on rear axle

 The wheels must turn with a noticeable braking effect.

If there is hardly any or no noticeable braking effect



Tighten parking brake lever (1) up to fourth notch and turn wheels again

Correct adjustment of nut (3) on thread, taking free travel into consideration

If the braking effect is still hardly or not perceptible at all in the fourth notch.

Tighten parking brake lever (1) up to fifth notch

Turn wheels on rear axle

 It should no longer be possible to turn the wheels.

If the wheels still turn.



Tighten parking brake lever (1) up to seventh notch and turn wheels again

Correct adjustment of nut (3) on thread, taking free travel into consideration

If the wheels still turn, even in the seventh notch.

Tighten parking brake lever (1) then release it again, several times in succession

Check the parking brake adjustment

If adjustment changed



Correct adjustment of nut (3) on thread, taking free travel into consideration

Lower vehicle with vehicle lift

Clip in cover (2)



Check

Carry out brake test on the test stand


