If the front axle is raised more than 720 mm, the center axle must be raised as well. | |||
3 | Remove wheels | ||
4 | Press off brake drum (3) with three bolts | Mark position of brake drum (3) relative to hub with a punch mark and remove. | |

5 | Clean brake drum (3) and brake linings (2) | Perforated cover for ultrasonic cleaning unit | |
| Checking | ||
6 | Check lining thickness of brake shoes (2) | The minimum lining thickness (B) of the brake linings (2) is indicated by a stepped edge. | |
7 | Check wear limit and inner surface quality of brake drums (3) | Skim brake drums (3) to repair size or replace if necessary. | |
| Install | ||
8 | Adjust wheel bearing play | Perform steps 16-18 only. | |
9 | Push on brake drum (3) | Observe markings and clearance. On versions with the ABS option, check that the sensor is correctly seated by pressing in the sensor as far as the stop. The distance between sensor and the rotor is set automatically by the wheel bearing play. | |
10 | Adjust clearance of brake | ||
11 | Install wheels | Tighten wheel nuts slightly without tightening torque. | |

13 | Tighten wheel nuts on front axle | | |
